My husband has gone thru MITRAL VALVE REPLACEMENT in 1986 by Duromedics ( #29 mm) mechanical valve in Methodist hospital in Houston, TX. Now he has to have an MRI for his spinal cord. The doctor wants the MRI with 1.5 T. Pl advice if there is any complication during MRI with this valve? The answer is needed very urgently. Thanks.

Hi, sorry, but users of this site are not in a position to comment on the safety of your particular implanted device. The medical doctor / radiologist in charge of your imaging will make a proper assessment.
But you may be interested to know that MRI is used on patients with heart valves every day, all over the world.
