Gadolinium Patient Safety Question?

Post by Budha Bob » Wed Nov 13, 2013 6:32 pm

Is it safe to have 2 separate "Gadolinium Enhanced MRI's" within 3 days of each other?

Note: Assuming normal Kidney function.

Just worried about the potential of "Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis" due to multiple Gd injections within a small given time-frame.

Thank you in advance for your input,

Yes it is. The clinician in charge of your management will be aware of clearance rates etc.

Some cardiac scans use multiple injections within the same hour. It depends on body-weight and how much is injected of course, but as I say, the clinician will factor this in.
